Hold on, we gotta clear some misconceptionsà
The Apoc is still king of the heap for battleship miners, but even a basic rigged Covetor can out mine an Apoc even with Modulated Deep Core Miner 2Æs, and only a swarm of good mining drones can make up for the gap, but the Covetor can field just as many as the Apoc, so that possibility is muted since they can both do it.
Apoc with miner 2Æs and max mining/astrogeology skill:
Miner 2 yield per minute: 60m3 x 1.25 x 1.25 = 93.75m3 each beam
Apoc with 8 beams is upwards of: 750m3 per minute
Harvester drone with max mining drone skill: 30m3 per minute x 1.25 = 37.5m3
10 harvesters yield upwards of: 375m3
375 from drones and 750 from beams = 1,125m3 per min (if there is no loss due to ore volume mind you)
Apoc w/ Modulated Deep Core Miner 2Æs, max skills and tech 2 crystals:
MDCM2 yield of 120m3 per 180 seconds: 120m3 x 1.25 x 1.25 x 1.75 = 328.125m3 per 180 seconds
Apoc with 8 of them = 2,625m3 per 180 sec (875me per min aprox)
10 harvesters yield upwards of: 375m3
375 from drones and 875 from beams = 1,250m3 per min (aprox)
Covetor with Strip Miner 1Æs and max skill in Mining, astrogeology, and mining barge:
Strip Miner 1 yield of 540m3 per 180 seconds: 540 x 1.25 x 1.25 x 1.15 = 970.3125
Covetor with 3 of them = 2910.9375m3 per 180 sec (970.3125m3 per min aprox)
10 harvesters yield upwards of: 375m3
375 from drones and 970 (aprox) from beams = 1,345m3 per min (aprox)
Covetor with Modulated Strip Miner 2Æs, max skills and tech 2 crystals:
MSM2 yield of 360 per 180 seconds: 360 x 1.25 x 1.25 x 1.15 x 1.75 = 1132.03125m3 per 180 sec
Covetor with 3 of them = 3396.09375m3 per 180 sec (1132.03125m3 per min aprox)
10 harvesters yield upwards of: 375m3
375 from drones and 1132.03125 (aprox) from beams = 1,507m3 per min (aprox)
Second, the Moros (Gallente Dreadnought) with its +5 Drone control per level of Gallente Dreadnought skill is EXTREMELY powerful and a swarm of up to 35 good mining drones can rip up ore like itÆs going out of style.
The ship itself would only use 3 Miner 2Æs or 3 MDCM2Æs, but the drones would more than make up for that turret shortage:
MDCM2 yield of 120m3 per 180 seconds: 120m3 x 1.25 x 1.25 x 1.75 = 328.125m3 per 180 seconds
Moros with 3 MDCM2Æs = 984.375m3 per 180 seconds (328.125m3 per min aprox)
35 harvesters with max mining drone skill: 30m3 per min x 1.25 bonus x 35 total drones = 1312.5m3 per minute
the MorosÆ beams plus drones: 1312.5 + 328.125 = 1640.625m3 per minute.
So theoretically, the Moros is now the most powerful miner in the game, but the caveat is that you need Dreadnought skill lv5 and 35 harvestersà which isnÆt impossible, especially for those of us that ôhordedö them while they still dropped, but for most people, thatÆs asking an awful lot.
We shall see how it pans out in the long run as well.
